There were two reasons why I chose Theodore Roosevelt. First of all, I chose him because I want to know more about some of the presidents, when I saw Theodore Roosevelt, I thought I might as well start from there. The second reason is just that I thought that he was interesting, and that I may learn more about him if I did this topic. It turns out he was pretty interesting because he really did a lot of good for America. He made the National Parks and protected consumers from monopolies. He also protected business competitors with his trust busting as well.
I conducted my research was with the help of my mom, who helped me see what sources were credible. I also watched a very helpful video that gave me a lot of information about Theodore Roosevelt and I went on from there. Once I figured out what my thesis was going to be, I been reading information on websites. When I didn't get the information I needed on one site, I went to another one and combined the information to get what I needed for my research. I was able to find quite a few good videos on the subjects as well, which helped me to make sense of all of the information.
I wanted to do a website because I thought it was more fun, it also made it easier to get information from one place to another. I'm also a PC Gamer, so using a computer would make it easier for me. I looked at other websites to see if I could find a website design, and weekly was simple yet interesting. I started by finding my pictures/quotes for my different sections, I then went to find my information and putting it on the website. I like this better than writing the paper because it is more visual and I would rather look at websites to learn rather than reading essays.
Theodore Roosevelt relates to the topic of "taking a stand" because he was his own person; he didn't care what other people thought about him and did what he wanted to. He didn't give up on his ideas and fought for what he thought was right. Theodore Roosevelt was so determined; he made it so that one person can't own too many companies, a monopoly, and he made it so there are now 200 million acres of national forest.
